Your music deserves to be heard. At BHAMS, we’ve removed the high cost of professional production to ensure that every artist—regardless of genre or budget—has access to high-fidelity recording, mixing, and mastering services. Officially known as Studio 101, our facility is a creative sanctuary for the Bellingham music community located at 1125 N Forest St Suite A101 in downtown.

World-Class Engineering: Mikel Perkins

Studio 101 is headed by local professional audio engineer Mikel Perkins. With over 20 years of experience, Mikel brings a legendary pedigree to your project as the sole apprentice of Grammy award-winning producer Jack Endino (most notably known for his work with Nirvana and Soundgarden). While his roots are in the iconic Northwest sound, Mikel’s two decades of expertise span the entire musical spectrum.

A Community Hub for Engineers & Students

We aren't just a studio; we are an incubator for the next generation of sound:

Freelance Engineering Rates: We invite ALL local freelance audio engineers to utilize Studio 101 for their own clients. We offer significantly reduced "engineer-only" rates to provide our local peers with a professional, high-end space to work without the typical commercial overhead.
Free Student Studio Time: Education should be hands-on. Any student currently enrolled in an audio engineering class—whether with us at BHAMS or at any other school in Whatcom County—qualifies for free studio time. We want you to practice your craft on professional gear without watching the clock.
Audio Production Lessons: We offer everything from 1st-time home recording lessons to audio production master classes and workshops.

Income generated from commercial studio sessions directly helps subsidize free sessions for youth, students, and low-income artists, ensuring the studio remains a resource for ALL.
